Global Journals

We work for the institutions that hold the collections.

Global Journals Private Limited is engaged by the library, and answers to it. We take no margin on what an institution buys, which is what lets our advice be worth having.

Section 01

What the work actually is.

Most library problems are not exotic. A catalogue was built to one standard and extended to another. A backlog grew because the person who catalogued retired. A repository was installed and never given a deposit policy. Stock has not been verified in a decade, so nobody trusts the count.

These are solvable, but only by doing the work item by item and writing down what was found. That is the service: careful, documented, finishable work on collections that institutions have to answer for.

Section 02

How we operate.

  • We tell an institution when a proposed piece of work is not worth doing. A shorter engagement that solves the problem is better business than a long one that does not.
  • Our fee comes from the institution alone, which keeps selection advice independent of any supply interest.
  • Every engagement ends in documents an auditor can read: reconciled counts, discrepancy lists and a written final position.
  • Content stays on infrastructure the institution controls. We configure, hand over and step back; custody of the collection remains with the institution throughout.
